Under Comcast NBCUniversal’s newly launched Plan Your Vaccine awareness campaign, Telemundo, the leading media company for U.S. Hispanics, will provide news, information and resources in Spanish, through Planifica Tu Vacuna, a comprehensive interactive tool in Spanish, to help Latinos plan for their COVID-19 vaccination.
The tool’s launch marks the kick-off of Telemundo’s year-long company-wide initiative to raise awareness in the Latino community about the COVID-19 vaccines and provide critical information to help Hispanics navigate the vaccination process and overcome this unprecedented global health crisis.
Data shows Latinos make up a lower percentage of people getting vaccinated for COVID-19 despite being disproportionately affected by the virus. Comcast NBCUniversal’s customizable tool offers Spanish-language users detailed information about when and where to get a COVID-19 vaccination. It will help users track the vaccine rollout process by state, providing up-to-date local and national information including who’s eligible, vaccine availability plus state specific requirements and rules.
The Planifica Tu Vacuna tool is powered by the NBCUniversal News Group featuring Noticias Telemundo and NBC News as main partners. The site will be regularly updated by a team of researchers working closely with state governments to provide real-time information. The tool will also help users track vaccine distribution timelines and identify the closest vaccination locations.
Users are able to sign up for notifications in Spanish to receive the latest information about changes in the vaccination plan in specific states and Puerto Rico. The site will also provide the latest reporting from Noticias Telemundo and NBC News on all vaccine-related news, updates and rollout issues.
The Planifica Tu Vacuna tool follows last year’s Planifica Tu Voto initiative, which included NBC News’ interactive tool of a state-by-state guide to help voters plan when and how they could vote.
